Fabulous Fabrics:
Two Day Workshop
My “Rolls Royce'“ workshop, this program covers a wide range of fabric designing skills for patchworkers and quilters, textiles and art teachers, dressmakers and … well, anyone who enjoys working with fabrics. We cover a range of basics to establish an understanding of how our Liquid Radiance colours work in the fabric, then explore those skills further to develop your confidence in creating effects of your own after the workshop is over. Hands-on skills will be complemented by demonstrations, and a forum for you to ask questions and research your own projects as required.
Fabulous Fabrics:
Basics and Beyond
A very comprehensive workshop for busy people who’d like to learn LOTS in a hurry! This program is a compilation of ‘basics’ and advanced techniques from the two-day program, and as seen in my Embellish magazine articles, and from Down Under Textiles in the past. We’ll cover as many of our ideas and techniques as we can possibly fit into our time together, creating sample-sized pieces to use as reference after the workshop is over. So put your running shoes on and brain in gear. A very busy day awaits! There’ll be 1/2 hour break for lunch of course, to keep us alert and ready for more.
Fabulous Fabrics:
Big and Beautiful
This is the perfect workshop for quilters and textiles teachers, dressmakers and home decorators to design large pieces of fabric for all sewing projects and upcycle a garment or two as well. I’m delighted to offer as many of our new techniques, as well as more from my magazine articles, on this very busy day. We’ll work with spray painting techniques the ‘no mess’ way, and use larger equipment to deal with bigger pieces of fabric quickly and easily. This one-day workshop is an ideal follow-through from the Basics and Beyond program, and will keep your mind buzzing from start to finish of our day together.
Garments Galore
Let’s hunt through your wardrobe and find those garments with stains, or anything that’s looking a bit ‘tired’ - hats, shoes, knickers, socks, and whatever else that’s fabric can be given a whole new life during this really fun day! You’ll be learning new skills throughout our time together, and taking home many rejuvenated items for your wardrobe, or for the kids or grandies.
Liquid Lustres
Our exclusive Liquid Lustres are soooo soft in the fabric you won’t believe it! In this one-day program, we’ll start with leaf printing, play with rubbings and stamping, and develop some really beautiful stencilling skills as well. Whether as enhancements to your Liquid Radiance creations or as designs on their own, I’m sure you’ll love this luxurious product as much as I do.
Advanced Techniques
In this workshop we’ll delve into a range of techniques often thought ‘too difficult’, ‘too messy’, or way too ‘complicated’ for in-home use. Using our safe and simple methods, you’ll learn batik skills, discharge, ‘screen printing’ (minus the cumbersome screens!) and lots more. Let me show you how you too can be clever and achieve great results the
Genesis Creations way.
Instant Fabrics in the Microwave
Using the heat and steam generated in a microwave oven, we’ll create the most amazing patterns and effects using different scrunches, twists and folds, and your fabrics will be ready to use instantly … well, almost! Liquid Radiance is non-toxic, so it is perfectly safe to use the same microwave oven for designing your fabrics as you use for cooking food. We’ll set the rules so you don’t burn the fabric, and explore a huge variety of skills so you can carry on even further after the workshop is over.
